World In Motion 2010: help make it England's World Cup 2010 anthem!
Capello to ban World Cup song!
1st November, 2009
Fabio Capello has instructed the FA that he does not want any World Cup song for next year's World Cup in South Africa. An England insider is quoted as saying:
Official World Cup song or not, the song of the nation in South Africa will make us England's 12th man on the field, in full voice, because we're singing for ENGLAND!
New Order to re-record World Cup anthem
15th October, 2009
It has been recently reported that New Order, the artists behind the classic that was England's 1990 World Cup song 'World in motion', have been approached to re-record the anthem for the 2010 World Cup.
John Barnes, whose famous rap in the 1990 version would become engraved in the memory of the nation, has been offered the chance to once again 'spit some rhyme The FA, however, have not made any official statement to date on the official England World Cup 2010 song. Many of us will remember how in years past, the FA have tendered the official World Cup song to the more 'commercially popular' artists, such as the Spice Girls in 1998.
The onus is on the nation to ensure we're singing for England (EN-GER-LAND!), with John Barnes busting a move!
